Beautiful Polychrome Delft tobacco jar. It features a classic beehive/pagoda-style lid used on virtually all Dutch tobacco jars, designed to seal in moisture and keep leaf tobacco fresh. The two flanking figures in feathered headdresses are “New World” figures, referencing tobacco’s origin in the Americas.
